About Bahamut Senki
A turn based strategy war game only released in Japan. The world of Bahumut is divided into eight powerful countries, four of which are ruled by humans or human-like creatures, while the other four are ruled by evil forces. These countries constantly wage war against one another trying to dominate and destroy the others. It's the player's job to choose which country to control and make it the most powerful country in all of Bahumut. At the beginning of each turn, you control your leader and take certain actions such as: recruit soldiers, declare war, engage in diplomatic talks, ect. In battles you can control several units of soldiers or magical creatures you can summon to assist you in battle.

A mix of strategy and arcade-style battles from Sega that never left Japan, and a cheap cart.
Bahamut Senki is a tactical role-playing game that Sega developed and published, and it came out only in Japan, on 8 March 1991, for the Mega Drive. It gives each of its many playable races its own soundtrack. Its play ranges from arcade creature-versus-creature fights, in the style of Archon, to planning and strategy similar to Koei's Gemfire and Nobunaga's Ambition.
It also offers two-player games, which add variety between the quiet stretches of strategy.

Before you buy
Among Japan-only carts this one is cheaper than most. A Japanese cartridge has a different shape and will not fit a Western console without an adapter or removing two plastic tabs in its slot. It saves to a battery inside the cartridge, so check that a save holds; a replaced battery is a normal repair, not a sign of a fake.
