Biomotor Unitron on Wikipedia
Biomotor Unitron is a role-playing video game developed by Yumekobo for the Neo Geo Pocket Color. Released in Japan and North America in 1999 by publisher SNK, making Biomotor Unitron the first role-playing game in the system, few weeks after the console's launch. A sequel, Kikou Seiki Unitron, was released in Japan; though, because of SNK's bankruptcy the title never saw a release in the United States or other regions.

The platform's flagship RPG, and one of the reasons an SNK handheld had any credibility with role-playing fans at all.
Biomotor Unitron is a dungeon-crawling RPG in which you build and customise a mech, and it is far deeper than a 1999 handheld from a fighting-game company had any reason to be. The customisation is the hook: parts change how your Unitron plays, not just its numbers, and the dungeon loop is built around coming back stronger.
It was one of the titles SNK added in the weeks after the August 1999 retail launch, and it remains one of the platform's most recommended games. It is on NEOGEO POCKET COLOR SELECTION Vol. 2 for the Nintendo Switch. A Japan-only sequel followed as Kikou Seiki Unitron.
Before you buy
This is an RPG with a substantial save, so the cartridge's own save battery is the thing to verify — a dead one means starting over every session, and it is invisible in photographs. Ask the seller to load a save after a full power cycle.
