Prices are per version and are not interchangeable, and neither are the reviews: conversions in this era were often built by a different studio than the original, so a score earned on one machine says nothing about how another plays.

The ColecoVision version
An Interphase space-combat game that came to the ColecoVision after the Intellivision, and it is a modest, rarely discussed cart.
Interphase began with a pair of Intellivision cartridges in 1983, Blockade Runner and Sewer Sam, and Electronic Games reported in May 1984 that the company was converting both to the ColecoVision. Computer Entertainer's schedules listed the ColecoVision Blockade Runner for spring 1984, and it came out in May 1984.
Almost nothing is documented about how this version was built or how reviewers rated the ColecoVision cartridge in particular, and no developer is credited. The sources show a dated release, a publisher, and the Intellivision original behind it, which is enough to place it but not to review it.
How it was made
Published by Interphase in 1984 as a conversion of its own Intellivision game; no separate developer is credited for the ColecoVision version.
How the ColecoVision version differs
The ColecoVision cartridge is a conversion of an Intellivision game. Interphase, the company behind the Intellivision original, handled the conversion.

Worth knowing
- From the ColecoVision manual. The two players cooperate rather than alternate: one steers with the joystick and side-buttons, the other fires missiles from the second controller's keypad.
- From the ColecoVision manual. The game self-adjusts to the player's skill: the better the commander, the harder the game becomes.
Before you buy
Plays with the standard ColecoVision controller. The community FAQ for the Bit Corp. Personal Arcade console lists it among keypad-intensive games, so check that the keypad on your controller is clean and responsive before buying. No overlay is documented for it. It sits in the middle of the third-party price range for the library, and only loose pricing is tracked, so ask for photos of the label and any box before paying a premium.

The Intellivision version
Interphase's space-combat cart, a lesser-known third-party Intellivision title.
Interphase Technologies published Blockade Runner for the Intellivision in 1983, alongside Sewer Sam. An Interphase ad promised three-dimensional graphics and realistic sound.
Interphase later converted it to the ColecoVision. Little else is documented about this cart or how reviewers rated it.
What the press said at the time
| Computer Entertainer Vol. 2 No. 7 | October 1983 | Graphics ★★★½ · Play-Action ★★★½ |
| Electronic Fun with Computers & Games Vol. 2 No. 3 | January 1984 | 4 joysticks (of 4) |
“There's enough complexity to satisfy even the most skilled of players, but the game can be managed by less experienced space cadets, too. This one is a must for those who love space games.”
“Blockade Runner is truly marvelous. The programmer has overcome the inherent difficulties in the Intellivision controllers, and has used all of the machine’s capabilities to the fullest.”
“Though it takes time to get oriented to the game play, the overall combination of sight, sound, and action make Blockade Runner a fantastic game for the Intellivision.”
Computer Entertainer rated graphics first and play action second, from four symbols (excellent) to one (poor) — diamonds through early 1987, stars after — comparing each game only with other games for the same system. Electronic Fun rated games out of four joysticks.
Before you buy
Interphase included two keypad overlays, though collectors say they are unused. Interphase labels came in picture and text variations, and it is unclear what separates them. Check that the case and manual are included.
