About BMX Air Master

This isn't kid stuff! It's the fastest, flyingest, most unforgiving trio of events any biker could ask for. Start with a Half Pipe that takes you so high you won't know whether you're coming or going. Then do a Quarter Pipe that makes doing dozens of tricks easy and crashing even easier. Then try the Ramp Jump. It's the jump that's just a bit wider than the Grand Canyon. If there's a more dangerous challenge open to daredevil BMX bikers, we have yet to test it. So, if you think you're good - really good - put your freewheeling skills on the line with BMX AirMaster!

A late BMX stunt cartridge from the 2600's Atari Corp years, found under two labels.

Adam Clayton designed BMX Air Master for TNT Games, and it came out in North America in August 1989, long after most publishers had left the 2600. Little else is documented about the game itself.

Its label history is the interesting part. Atari re-released it under its own label, as BMX Airmaster, in January 1991, so the same game exists as a TNT Games cartridge and as an Atari Corp one.

Before you buy

Low risk. Check which label you are looking at: the TNT Games original is the cheaper of the two, and the Atari-label BMX Airmaster reissue sells for a little more. It is the same game either way, so buy the Atari label only if you want it for the collection. The Atari Corp copy may sit in the late universal 2600/7800 shell with no dust door and a cheaper gray label, which is normal for Atari's 1986-onward carts and not a sign of a fake.
