To help you along the way, you can shoot a power pod to score points, increase your firepower, and gain some help from fellow squadrons.

A straightforward vertical shooter that is fun at first and over quickly.

Bomber Raid is a vertically scrolling shooter developed by Sanritsu in which you fly a fighter deep into enemy territory, causing as much damage as you can. It came out in North America in January 1989 (published by Activision there), in Japan on February 4, 1989 and in Europe in June 1989, with Sega publishing elsewhere.

Mean Machines, in its 1992 games guide, called it pretty good fun but not difficult to beat, so you tend to play it a lot at first before it wears thin.

“It's pretty good fun, but the game isn't dif¬ ficult to beat, so although you tend to play it a lot at first, it doesn't take long before you finish it and become bored.”

— Mean Machines Sega, December 1992

“Testing as you try to také out both air and ground targets. Not difficult mentally, but certainiy tests patience and quickly becomes exceedingly boring.”

— Sega Pro, September 1993

Before you buy

There are US, European and Japanese carts. The European cart is a little cheaper loose and usually costs more complete, and a complete Japanese copy costs far more than a complete US one. The Japanese cart is a different, smaller shape and does not fit a Western console without an adapter. The US cart sits at about the typical price for its year, and the look-alike risk is low.
