A licensed hockey game that critics dismissed in its day, and an inexpensive cart now.
Brett Hull Hockey '95 was developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Accolade. It came out in North America in December 1994, with Al Michaels providing the play-by-play. It is a sequel to the earlier Brett Hull Hockey.
Reviewers were unkind. A GamePro critic faulted the grainy voice, slow play and slower control, and the emphasis on individual plays rather than teamwork. Next Generation called it a feeble attempt at capturing the action of NHL Hockey.
How the Sega Genesis version differs
The Genesis version came out in December 1994, a month before the Super NES and MS-DOS versions.
A GamePro critic gave the Genesis version a negative review, citing grainy voice and slow game play and slower control, and Next Generation gave it one star out of five.

- Super NES. GamePro praised the Super NES version's coaching feature and said its action-driven style might appeal to beginners; Next Generation gave it two stars out of five.
Before you buy
Among US carts it sits below the median. The cartridge saves to a battery inside it for some modes, so test that a save holds; a replaced battery is a normal repair and not a sign of a fake. A complete US copy means the case, cartridge and manual.
