About Chibi Maruko-chan: Waku-waku Shopping

Chibi Maruko-chan: Waku-waku Shopping is the 8th video board game based on Momoko Sakura's Chibi Maruko-chan slice of life manga and anime about a troublemaking grade-schooler and her friends and family. Maruko and her classmates Tamae, Kazuhiko, and Sueo move around a board and increase/decrease their money and happiness totals depending on where they land. A Japan-only Namco tie-in to a beloved family manga and anime, cheap and aimed at fans of the series.

Chibi Maruko-chan: Waku Waku Shopping is a Namco game based on Momoko Sakura's manga about Maruko, a young girl in suburban Japan in 1974, which Nippon Animation adapted into a television anime that ran on Fuji Television from 1990 to 1992. The Mega Drive game came out in Japan on 14 January 1992 and nowhere else.

Before you buy

This is a Japanese Mega Drive cartridge, with a different shape from a Western cart, so it needs an adapter or two plastic tabs removed from a Western console's slot. It sits below the middle among Japan-only carts, so it is an inexpensive pickup for series fans.
