About Clue

In addition to play by the original rules, Clue has an additional mode that allows movement via "points." Each turn begins with nine points and every action the player takes costs points. The player can only do as many things as he has points. For example, moving from square to square costs one point, making a suggestion costs three points. Many players prefer this mode of play as it makes the game more balanced since each player gets the same number of "moves" each turn.

A straightforward electronic version of the board game, and one of the cheapest US carts around.

Clue is Parker Brothers' detective board game turned into a Genesis game by Sculptured Software, released in North America in January 1993. It plays with three to six players, any mix of people and computer opponents, with five difficulty levels, a demo mode and all the familiar Victorian rooms from the kitchen to the conservatory.

Electronic Games, reviewing the Genesis game in November 1992, noted that Miss Scarlet had become Ms. Scarlet and the rest of the suspects had hardly changed.

How the Sega Genesis version differs

The Genesis game was a North American exclusive, shared with a Super NES version.

Electronic Games described the Genesis game as an electronic board game for three to six players, any of them human or computer.

Before you buy

This is one of the cheapest US carts. A cardboard-box edition is priced separately from the plastic-case copy; the loose box cart usually costs a little more, but the complete box copy usually costs a little less. A complete US copy means the case, cartridge and manual.
