College Football's National Championship was developed by BlueSky Software and published by Sega, and it came out only in North America, in August 1994. Lon Simmons provides the voice commentary.
Game Players praised the graphics, control and sound, noted three difficulty levels, and mentioned authentic fight songs from 32 colleges.
What the press said at the time
“CFNC is Sega Sports’ best football game to date and a must have in any Genesis sports player’s library. If you are looking for a good college football game, look no further. With an outstanding play book, great graphics and sound, season play with stats, and tremendous”
Before you buy
Among US carts it sits well below the middle. The cartridge saves to a battery inside it, so check that a save holds; a replaced battery is a normal repair, not a sign of a fake. Sega Retro lists it as working with Sega's Team Player and as using the six-button pad. A complete US copy means the case, cartridge and manual.
