Rob Fulop's follow-up to Demon Attack, a 2600-only Imagic game with a well-known cartridge quirk, and cheap.

Rob Fulop designed Cosmic Ark, and Imagic published it in 1982. You pilot a spaceship carrying survivors from the city of Atlantis and gather specimens from different planets.

Two versions of the cartridge exist. One lets you turn the starfield display on and off with the Black & White / Color TV switch, and the other does not.

How it was made

Designed by Rob Fulop and published by Imagic in July 1982, with a PAL release the same year.

Worth knowing

  • Two cartridges, one switch. One version of the cartridge lets the Black & White / Color TV switch toggle the starfield; the other always shows it.
  • Launched from Atlantis. Electronic Games' February 1983 Atlantis review pointed out the tie-in: "As the underwater city blows apart, sharp-eyed players see a tiny escape craft quickly launched into space. This craft turns out to be the Cosmic Ark".

Before you buy

Low risk, with no documented reproductions. Loose carts are inexpensive, and boxed copies are not much more. If the starfield toggle matters to you, ask the seller to test the Black & White / Color switch, since only one of the two cartridge versions supports it.
