About Devilish: The Next Possession
"Devilish" is different from other paddle games by letting you play with two paddles. The lower one behaves just like a usual paddle - you use it to prevent the ball from dropping down. The upper one can move and turn, allowing you to hit the ball from different angles and from different parts of the screen. You advance through levels by destroying bricks and enemies, going up until the level boss enemy appears.

A Break-Out style block-smasher with two bats, and one of the pricier US carts.
Devilish: The Next Possession was developed by Aisystem Tokyo. Hot-B released it in Japan on 24 April 1992 as Bad Omen, and Sage's Creation published it in North America in April 1992.
Video Games & Computer Entertainment reviewed the Genesis version in May 1992 and described it as based on the classic game Breakout, with seven levels that are each a scrolling maze.

| Sega Pro Issue 33 | June 1994 | 85% |
“the Genesis version is out, and it’s every bit as good as the Game Gear cart.”
“Remember Break-Ouť? This is similar, but with far better graphics. Také control of two bats (not one) and break those walls down. Addictive bash-’em-down fun.”

Before you buy
Among US carts it is above the middle, and a Japanese cart usually costs about twice as much as the US one; the Japanese cartridge is a different shape and does not fit a Western console without an adapter or removing two plastic tabs in its slot. It is worth a look before paying: compare a board photo with the board listed on this page. A complete US copy means the case, cartridge and manual.
