Dinolympics on Wikipedia

The Humans is a puzzle-platform game developed by Imagitec Design in Dewsbury, England and originally published by Mirage Technologies for the Amiga in May 1992. It was ported to other home computers and consoles. The goal of the game varies per level but usually revolves around bringing at least one of the player-controlled humans to the designated end area marked by a colored tile. Doing this requires players taking advantage of the tribe's ability to build a ladder and use tools such as spears, torches, wheels, ropes and a witch doctor in later levels.

The Lynx version of The Humans under a different name — and the renaming is the whole story.

Imagitec Design's puzzle-platformer shipped elsewhere as The Humans; Atari published the 1992 Lynx version as Dinolympics. Same lineage, different branding, and it catches out buyers and databases alike — Wikipedia files it under The Humans.

The game itself is a decent lemming-adjacent puzzler about guiding a tribe using tools and each other. Never re-released.

Worth knowing

It is Lemmings with a haircut, and the French said so first. Consoles + introduced it in November 1993 as: "you all know the essential Lemmings. Now imagine a mad razor went over the tribe of rodents: you get Dinolympics." The tribe cooperates rather than marching blindly — characters climb on each other's shoulders to form a ladder so a warrior can reach high platforms — across thirty levels, with a password every five.
Thirty levels, and a bomb that kills your own tribe. Consoles + documented the structure in 1993: thirty levels of progressive difficulty, in which a tribe of a chief, a shaman and warriors discovers the spear, the wheel and fire, each unlocking new ways to cross ravines and rescue stranded tribe members. If a rescue becomes hopeless there is a bomb command, shown as a mushroom cloud, which kills every one of them at once "dans un concert de cris dechirants".
