About Férias frustradas do Pica-Pau

Férias frustradas do Pica-Pau (roughly translated as Woody Woodpecker's Frustrated Vacations) is a platform game developed and published by Tectoy and released exclusively in Brazil for the Sega Mega Drive and Sega Master System. It stars cartoon character Woody Woodpecker on a quest to save his friends. Férias Frustradas do Pica-Pau is unusual in that it keeps a non-shaded cartoon style throughout the entire game.

Prices are per version and are not interchangeable, and neither are the reviews: conversions in this era were often built by a different studio than the original, so a score earned on one machine says nothing about how another plays.

The Sega Genesis version

A Tec Toy platformer starring Woody Woodpecker, made for Brazil, and the Mega Drive version carries extras the Master System one lacks.

The Mega Drive version of this Woody Woodpecker game was released by Tec Toy in Brazil in October 1996, drawing on Walter Lantz's cartoons. Its title is a nod to the film National Lampoon's Vacation.

The Mega Drive version gives Woody a rocket pack that lets him travel faster and a horn to wake Wally Walrus, items that do not appear in the Master System version.

How the Sega Genesis version differs

The rocket pack and the horn that wakes Wally Walrus appear only in the Mega Drive version.
