A budget golf game that is among the cheapest American carts in the catalogue.
Great Golf was developed by Whiteboard and published by Sega. It reached Japan on 10 October 1987 as Masters Golf, and North America and Europe in November 1987.
How it was made
Developed by Whiteboard and published by Sega.
What the press said at the time
“If you fancy a round of 18-hole golf, this might be what you're looking for. Or is it? If you look around the shelves of your software shop, you'll find Golfamania and Leaderboard, both which have bet¬ ter graphics, sound and playability.”
Before you buy
The European cart usually costs less than the US one loose and slightly less complete. The Japanese cart, sold as Masters Golf, costs somewhat more loose and clearly more complete, and it is a different, smaller shape that does not fit a Western console without an adapter. The US cart is among the cheapest in the catalogue, and the look-alike risk is low. Check that the manual is there, since it is the part most often missing from a complete copy.
