About Hunt & Score
Hunt & Score is similar to the game Memory. The player is presented with a numbered grid; behind each grid section is a picture. On each turn, the player chooses two grid sections in an attempt to find two matching pictures. Points are earned for finding matching pictures, and the player with the most points at the end wins. Several game options include a 16 or 30 square game grid, the ability to handicap one of the players, and the ability to enable or disable wild cards.

Atari's keypad memory-match game, an early oddity that needs keypad controllers and costs little.
Hunt & Score, also known as A Game of Concentration, is a digital version of the classic memory card game. Jim Huether programmed it, and Atari released it in October 1978. It is one of a handful of games that use Atari's keypad controllers.
Sears sold it for its Tele-Games Video Arcade console under the name Memory Match.
How it was made
Programmed by Jim Huether and released by Atari in October 1978, and by Sears as Memory Match.

Worth knowing
- Renamed on Atari's 1981 list. Atari's own January 1981 retailer price list prints the new name beside the old one: "CX2642 A GAME OF CONCENTRATION … (formerly, HUNT 'N' SCORE)". Dealers paid $14.00 against a suggested retail price of $22.95.
- A 1983 collectible. Electronic Fun's January 1983 collecting column listed Hunt and Score, the version sold before Atari renamed it Concentration, among the cartridges worth collecting.
Before you buy
Low risk. You need Atari's keypad controllers to play it, so check whether a listing includes them. Two labels are priced: the Atari Hunt & Score cart and the Sears Memory Match cart. Both are cheap loose, but boxed Atari copies cost noticeably more than boxed Sears copies. Check which name is on the label and box before comparing prices.
