About Junction

Junction on the Game Gear plays much like its Genesis equivalent but the view is top-down rather than isometric. The object is still to guide the ball along a path to the exit, shifting tiles as needed.

An obscure puzzle game that is cheap to buy among US carts.

Junction is a puzzle game developed and published by Micronet for the Mega Drive and Genesis. It is a port of Konami's arcade game Cue Brick, which had been released only in Japan in July 1989. Junction came out in Japan on 25 November 1990 and in North America in April 1991. Micronet also made a Game Gear version, and this page is for the Genesis cartridge.

Before you buy

Among US carts it sits a little below the middle. The Japanese loose cart usually costs about the same as the US one, and a complete Japanese copy usually costs more. The Japanese cartridge has a different shape and needs an adapter or two plastic tabs removed from a Western console's slot.
