A nicely made film tie-in from BlueSky Software, and a cheap cart.

Jurassic Park on the Genesis is an action-adventure game developed by BlueSky Software and published by Sega as a tie-in with the 1993 film, using elements from Michael Crichton's novel. It came out in North America on 10 August 1993, in Japan on 27 August 1993 and in Europe on 10 September 1993. Doug TenNapel was one of its artists.

Acclaim and Activision both bid for the rights to make the Genesis version, but lost to Sega. In a 2012 comparison Game Informer declared the Genesis version somewhat superior to the Super NES one.

“Jurassic Park is a very good platform game, but the graphics are a letdown. With some better visuals and slightly better play control, this game would easily have scored an 8 or 9.”

— VideoGames & Computer Entertainment, September 1993

“Jurassic Park won't disappoint you, even if you haven't seen the movie. Standing alone as a side-scroller, it's action-packed and fun for hours on end.”

— GamePro, September 1993

“The action is slow and predictable, and there's nothing here to tempt you for another go.”

— MegaTech, November 1993

Among US carts it sits below the middle. The European loose cart usually costs about the same as the US one, while a complete European copy usually costs more. The Japanese cart usually costs noticeably more. A cardboard-box release is priced separately from the plastic-case copy, so check which one a listing is.
