A revamp of Sega's first Jurassic Park game that brought little new, though it is cheap and easy to find.

Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition is an action platformer from BlueSky Software, published by Sega in North America in October 1994 and Europe in November 1994. It revamps Sega's earlier Jurassic Park game for the Genesis on a slightly different engine, with similar gameplay and a new story that picks up where the first one ended.

Game Players, reviewing it in 1995, let you choose between Dr. Grant and a raptor, either saving dinosaur eggs or munching humans, and found it a yawn with not much new; it told readers who wanted dino-blasting action to stick with the original.

“I can't say that the last Jurassic Park game was particularly enthralling and I wasn't looking forward to seeing this sequel. When it came to it though I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this game.”
— Sega Magazine, November 1994

“The graphics seem to be better this time around, and the control is punched up a little bit. Fans of the movie and first game will love this.”
— Electronic Gaming Monthly, November 1994

Before you buy

Among US carts it sits right around the middle. The European cart usually costs somewhat more than the US one loose and about the same complete. A complete US copy means the case, cartridge and manual.
