A polygon motorcycle racer that is competent but dull, and far cheaper in its European form.
Kawasaki Superbike Challenge is a motorcycle racer developed by Lankhor, published by Time Warner Interactive in North America and as Kawasaki Superbikes in Europe. It came out in North America in March 1995 and in Europe on 17 March 1995. It uses the same engine as the Genesis game F1.
GamePro praised the options, responsive controls, complex tracks and a balanced challenge with enough variety for all skill levels, but criticized the undetailed landscapes and blocky polygons. Next Generation found the races redundant and the riders without character.
How the Sega Genesis version differs
Next Generation rated the Genesis version two stars out of five, finding the races redundant and the bikers lacking in character.
Also on other platforms
Super NES · Game Gear
- Game Gear. GamePro more wholeheartedly approved of the Game Gear version, praising its graphics, fast pace, two-player mode and many customization options.
- Super NES. Next Generation panned the Super NES version, mostly for its lack of any sense of speed, and gave it one star out of five.
Before you buy
Among US carts it sits above the middle, and the risk is low. The European cart (Kawasaki Superbikes) usually costs much less than the US one, loose and complete. A complete US copy means the case, cartridge and manual.
