The Sega Genesis version

A clever, addictive rat-herding puzzler that sits about at the middle on price among US carts.

On the Genesis this puzzle game is called Krusty's Super Fun House, the same title the other 16-bit versions used. Audiogenic developed it and Flying Edge published it, in North America in 1992 and in Europe on 17 December 1992. You play Krusty the Clown, placing objects around each level to lead the rats toward the machine that exterminates them.

Mean Machines Sega compared it to Lemmings in reverse, with guiding creatures to their doom rather than saving them, and called the graphics slick, the sound cool and the play highly addictive. There are two revisions of the Genesis game.

What the press said at the time

Mean Machines Sega Issue 3December 199290%

“Krusty is an excellent alternative. This is the second megadrive Simpson's licence and thankfully it's a great improvement on the Space Mutant saga.”

— Mega, September 1992

“Krusty's got a problem. His TV Funhouse has been infested with rats and he's got to get rid of them - NOW! This is sort of like Lemmings in reverse, the object being to guide thick creatures to their doom rather than rescue them. The graphics are skill, the sound cool and the gameplay highly addictive. Go get it!”

— Mean Machines Sega, December 1992

How the Sega Genesis version differs

Mean Machines compared the Mega Drive game to Lemmings in reverse and praised its graphics, sound and addictive gameplay.

Among US carts the loose cart sits about at the middle. The European loose cart usually costs about the same as the US one, while a complete European copy usually costs a bit less. A complete US copy means the case, cartridge and manual.
