The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny on Wikipedia
The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny is a fighting game released by SNK in April 2000 for the Neo Geo Pocket Color. It is the third game in The Last Blade series. The European release was subject to a recall when SNK ceased all foreign operations a month later, making it one of the rarest English language titles in Neo Geo Pocket Color's library. The game was later re-released as part of Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection Vol. 1 in 2021.

The most ambitious fighter on the system, and the one whose box costs more than most consoles.
The Last Blade's weapon-based fighting, with its parries and its two fighting stances, is a harder thing to compress onto two buttons than King of Fighters was — and SNK largely pulled it off. It is slower and more deliberate than Match of the Millennium, and better for it; the stance system gives the small roster more depth than the character count suggests.
It arrived in 2000, as SNK's Western operation was collapsing, which is a large part of why English copies are scarce. It is on NEOGEO POCKET COLOR SELECTION Vol. 1 for the Nintendo Switch.
Before you buy
This is the clearest example on the platform of packaging being worth more than the game: a complete copy runs several times a loose one, so the box and manual are the thing being valued and the thing worth faking. Check the manual for 25-year-old paper and staple wear. The cartridge itself is also high-risk — inspect the label recess for a flush fit.
