The Neo Geo's only bowling game, and a more interesting arcade object than a home one.

League Bowling is SNK's bowling game, in which you control Pete and choose balls from 8 to 15 pounds. It is the only bowling game released on the Neo Geo. It is also the only Neo Geo game with eight-player support, achieved in the arcade by linking up to four MVS machines. That feature does not translate to a single home console, so at home it is a party game for a couple of friends.

It was an early arrival: the arcade version came in December 1990, and the AES cart followed on July 1, 1991, when the home console went on sale in Japan. It later appeared on the NEOGEO Station service for PlayStation 3 and PSP.

Before you buy

Med risk. The Japanese cart sells for somewhat more than the US one when loose and about the same when complete, and a complete copy is worth much more than a loose cart. Bowling is a niche game, so buy it because you want that niche rather than to fill out a fighting-game shelf. For a complete cart, a photo of the board helps rule out a conversion. It also came out on Neo Geo CD, and ACA NeoGeo covers the arcade version.
