About Magical Taluluto-kun

Magical Taluluto-kun is a 1992 action game for the Sega Mega Drive by Sega and Game Freak to tie into Tatsuya Egawa's/Shueisha's Magical Taruruuto-kun manga, which had been recently turned into an anime by Toei Animation. C jumps; C in mid-air lunges forward. By default, B attacks. When standing next to an object, B will grab that object; B again throws it at enemies. Objects can only be used in the area they are found. You get a new magic power after every stage; hit Start to bring up a menu to choose one and A to use.

A charming Game Freak platformer for the Mega Drive, and a Japan-only cart priced above the middle of its group.

Magical Taruruto-kun is a platformer based on Tatsuya Egawa's manga and anime, developed by Game Freak and published by Sega on 24 April 1992 in Japan. It is the fifth game in the series and the only one on the Mega Drive. Junichi Masuda composed the music.

It came out only in Japan, and it was later included in the Japanese Mega Drive Mini 2 in 2022.

How it was made

Game director Ken Sugimori said in the artbook Ken Sugimori Works that Sega approached Game Freak and offered a choice of three Mega Drive games to make.

Before you buy

Among Japan-only carts its loose price sits above the middle, and the risk of a fake is low. Japanese cartridges are a different shape from Western ones and do not fit a Western console without an adapter or removing two plastic tabs in its slot.
