A multiplayer-friendly toy-car racer with guns and mines, built into a J-Cart.

Micro Machines Military was developed by Supersonic Software and published by Codemasters. It came out in Europe on 11 November 1996 and is a J-Cart, with two control ports built into the cartridge so no multitap is needed. It brings new tracks and military vehicles.

Mean Machines Sega praised the party play for four to eight players sharing pads and the knockout table for up to 16 players, and called the game an excellent way to close the series on the Mega Drive.

What the press said at the time

“Codies has left the Megadrive in fine form, with the best all-round Micro Machines of them all.”

— Mean Machines Sega, December 1996

Before you buy

A European-only cart, so there is no US or Japanese cart to compare. Among the European-only carts it sits above the middle, and the risk is low. Sega Retro lists the J-Cart as a variant, so check that the cart you are buying has the two built-in controller ports.
