What it needs to play
- Some modesSave battery (inside the cartridge) — saves to memory kept alive by a battery inside the cartridge; if that battery has died, saves are lost (MAME cartridge records).

A Japan-only Formula One game tied to a real driver, and one of the cheapest Japan-only carts.
Nakajima Satoru Kanshū F1 Grand Prix is a Formula One game for the Mega Drive developed and published by Varie. It came out only in Japan, on 20 December 1991. It is based on the career of Satoru Nakajima, the first full-time Japanese Formula One driver.
It is Varie's third game with Nakajima, after two on the Famicom, and lets you replay the 1991 Formula One season.
Before you buy
Among Japan-only carts it sits well below the median. The cartridge saves to a battery inside it for some modes, so test that a save holds; a replaced battery is a normal repair and not a sign of a fake. Japanese cartridges are a different shape and do not fit a Western console without an adapter or removing two plastic tabs in its slot.
