A forgettable early-90s basketball cart from Sega, and one of the cheapest US carts to pick up.
NBA Action '94 is a basketball game developed by Malibu Interactive and published by Sega, released on the Genesis in North America in April 1994. Sega Retro lists it as working with Sega's Team Player and as using the six-button pad.
What the press said at the time
“Graphics are not the game's strong point. The game is played from a center court TV cam-viewpoint that rotates smoothly from one”
“for the rest of the day. The game lacks any reál playability and can’t justify its price tag at all.”
“An astonishingly poor basketball conversion, especially when compared with NBA Jam. Yet another indictment of the American games scene, where this one gestated. Avoid.”
Before you buy
Among US carts it is one of the cheapest, so condition and a complete copy matter more than hunting for a bargain.
