Atari 2600 prices, all games & how to spot a fake

A multi-label action game with in-game music, valuable mostly because few copies exist.

Home Vision published Parachute, also sold as Vom Himmel durch die Hölle (Wikipedia dates it to 1983); Gem International Corporation is credited as developer. Like many European 2600 releases of the period, the same game appeared under more than one name. You steer a parachutist down through screens of planes, helicopters, birds and hot-air balloons, then land away from a pacing guard, with a bonus for landing near the center.

It is one of a few 2600 games with background music during play, a looping theme that shifts pitch.

Before you buy

Low risk. No fakes are documented, and the buyer pool is thin because this is a PAL release. A PAL cartridge on an NTSC console and TV will roll and show odd colors, so check what you will play it on. The German title, Vom Himmel durch die Hölle, is the same game; confirm which name is on the label you are being offered.
