A pleasant multiplayer card-and-table-games cart that is among the cheapest of the US-released carts.

Parlour Games is a collection of table and card games developed by Compile and published by Sega. It came out in Japan on December 27, 1987, as Family Games, then in North America in May 1988 and in Europe in 1990. Computer Entertainer said it provided more variations and more fun than expected: the games are well designed and, apart from World Bingo, take real skill, though they do not demand lightning reflexes. It saw an appeal for adults not used to video games and noted support for one to four players.

Before you buy

There is a US, a European and a Japanese release. The European cart is cheaper than the US one in both conditions. The Japanese cart is dearer loose and far dearer complete, and it is a different, smaller shape that needs an adapter on a Western console. The loose price is among the lowest of the US-released carts, and the look-alike risk is low.
