A licensed game based on a 1981 comedy film, more interesting as a Fox curiosity than as a game.
Fox Video Games released Porky's for the 2600 in 1983, based on the 1981 comedy film. Lazer Microsystems and DEMC developed it, with Mark V. Rhoads, Randy Hyde, Winston Hendrickson and Jon Simonds credited as designers. An Atari 8-bit version was later published on cartridge by Romox.
Loose carts are cheap. The box is the expensive part, and sealed copies sit far above everything else.
What the press said at the time
| Computer Entertainer Vol. 2 No. 7 | October 1983 | Graphics ★★★ · Play-Action ★★★ |
“This is one of the better efforts from Fox Video Games. … The designers have done a good job of getting the spirit of the movie into the video game, something that doesn't always happen with such adaptations.”
Computer Entertainer rated graphics first and play action second, from four symbols (excellent) to one (poor) — stars in most years, diamonds in 1986–87 — comparing each game only with other games for the same system.

Before you buy
Low risk; no reproductions are documented. The box and manual carry much of a complete copy's value, so check both closely in photos for crushing, tears and missing flaps. A sealed copy is a packaging purchase, so look at the seal and the box corners before paying a sealed premium.
