An isometric radio-controlled car racer where prize money buys upgrades, and a fair pickup for racing fans.

R.C. Grand Prix is an isometric racing game about radio-controlled cars, developed by Imagineering. Seismic Software published it in North America in June 1990, and Sega published it in Europe in 1990. A Video Games & Computer Entertainment preview in July 1990 noted ten race courses and said prize money from wins can be used to upgrade your car.

“Multi-player action that will fail to excite race fans. Luckily, the graphics are interesting, but why do Sega have ads everywhere?”

— Sega Pro, September 1994

Before you buy

There are two releases. The European cart costs noticeably less than the US one loose and far less complete, so it is the better value if you are in Europe. The US cart sits around the middle of the price range for US games. Check that the manual is included.
