An unwavering army of Terminators, robotic dogs, spiders, Endoskeletons and a relentless arsenal of automated weapons await you in this veritable hell on earth. To destroy this enemy, free its hostages and finally pierce the dark heart of a killer computer. The cheapest way to own it loose is the Sega Master System version ($11).

Prices are per version and are not interchangeable, and neither are the reviews: conversions in this era were often built by a different studio than the original, so a score earned on one machine says nothing about how another plays.

The Sega Genesis version

A gory crossover shooter on a proven Genesis engine, and one of the pricier US carts.

This is the Genesis version of RoboCop Versus The Terminator, a run-and-gun game based on the 1992 four-issue comic book miniseries that pits the two film franchises against each other. Virgin Games developed it on an engine written by David Perry, the same engine used in Cool Spot and Global Gladiators. Programmer John Botti has said he enhanced it with a linked-list sprite object so that the game could have huge end-of-level bosses.

It carried more gore and violence than most Genesis games of its time, and Electronic Gaming Monthly named it Bloodiest Game of 1993. It reached North America on 12 December 1993, Europe in December 1993 and Japan on 28 May 1994.

Among US carts it sits well above the middle. The European loose cart usually costs less than the US one, but a complete European copy usually costs a little more. The Japanese cart usually costs far more complete and has a different cartridge shape.
