Mahjong solitaire on a handheld, which is exactly where it belongs.

Atari developed and published the 1990 Lynx version of Activision's tile-matching classic. It is a portable puzzle game with no timing demands and no scrolling — arguably the single most appropriate genre for this hardware.

It supports two players over ComLynx, confirmed by the period FAQ, and it was one of the 17 titles Mumin Corporation took to Japan.

How it was made

Programmed by Eric Ginner and Jerome Strach, the pair Atari Explorer credited in 1992 with Ms. Pac-Man, Checkered Flag, Shanghai and Rampart.
