The Japan-only sequel to the platform's best game, and the last cartridge SNK ever released for it.
Card Fighters 2 refines the first game's deck-building with a wider card pool and an expanded campaign, and it never left Japan — it arrived on 13 September 2001, roughly six weeks before SNK declared bankruptcy. It is the final release on the platform in every sense.
It is entirely in Japanese, which is a real barrier on a card game where reading the cards is the game. It also carries the platform's most obscure Dreamcast tie-in: finish the campaign and a DC Link option unlocks on the main menu, connecting to Capcom vs. SNK 2. It is not on either Switch collection.
Before you buy
The Card Fighters name carries enough Western demand to make reproduction worthwhile, unusually for a Japan-only title. Note the very large gap between loose and complete copies here, which puts the pressure on the packaging rather than the cartridge — check the manual for period-consistent wear. It saves to the cartridge, so confirm a save survives a power cycle.
