Super Sidekicks 3: The Next Glory on Wikipedia
Super Sidekicks 3: The Next Glory is a 1995 association football video game developed and published by SNK for the Neo Geo arcade and home platforms. It is the third installment in the Super Sidekicks series, succeeding Super Sidekicks 2: The World Championship (1994). Featuring an arcade-style approach to soccer like its predecessors, the game allows players to choose any of the available game modes to compete with AI-controlled rivals or other human players with their preferred team. It was re-released through compilations and download services for various consoles. It proved popular among players and garnered positive reception from critics, but most reviewers noted that it felt more an update than a true successor to Super Sidekicks 2. It was followed by The Ultimate 11: SNK Football Championship in 1996.

An arcade-style soccer game that reviewers enjoyed for its easy playability, now a mid-priced cart with a notable US premium.
Super Sidekicks 3: The Next Glory is the third game in SNK's soccer series, following Super Sidekicks 2: The World Championship. It takes an arcade-style approach to football and lets you pick any available mode to play against computer or human opponents. The Japanese AES cart came out in April 1995, a month after the MVS arcade release, and a Neo Geo CD version followed in June.
Electronic Gaming Monthly's two sports reviewers praised the Neo Geo AES version for its graphics, sound and especially its easy playability. A 1998 remake, Neo Geo Cup '98: The Road to the Victory, was released on MVS to coincide with the World Cup and is the final entry in the series, according to Wikipedia.
How it was made
Developed and published by SNK. Wikipedia credits Kanitaro and Performaru as designers and Akihiro Uchida and Pearl Shibakichi as composers.
What the press said at the time
| Next Generation Issue 8 | August 1995 | Rating: ** |
“There are some nice ideas in the latest Neo-Geo soccer efforts, but the gameplay lacks any real excitement to accompany them.”
Next Generation rated games from one star ("Bad: crucially flawed in design or application") to five ("Revolutionary"); three stars meant "Good: a solid and competitive example of an established game style."

Before you buy
Mid-priced for the library, with the US release from SNK of America selling for more than the Japanese cart. Case and manual add value. As with any valuable AES cart, the documented fraud is an arcade board in an AES shell, so ask for a photo of the board on a complete copy: genuine AES boards read NEO-AEG.
