A fast, sometimes infuriating platformer based on the CBS series that Mean Machines Sega rated among the better recent Master System games, and a European cart that sits well above the middle on price.
The Flash is based on the CBS television series, developed by Probe Software and published by Sega. It came out in Europe in August 1993. Jeroen Tel is credited as composer.
Mean Machines Sega called it a fast, highly playable platform romp with decent graphics and okay sound, and almost certainly one of the better Master System games in for review recently, though nasty traps and obscure level aims could be infuriating. One reviewer noted that the Flash is a lot slower here than in the comics. An earlier preview described him bounding across platform levels and overtaking lorries on the M1, with the Trickster as his archenemy.

“A fast-paced platform game with a high challenge setting. Fun for a few weeks”
“DC Comics’ character zooms onto the Master System with one of the most enjoyable platform games around. Loads of levels, tricky bad guys and Son/c-type speeds make this an essential purchase. If you’re a fan of the comic books or decent platformers, this is for you.”

Before you buy
The European cart is the one to buy. Loose, it is priced well above the middle for a European-only game. The look-alike risk is low. Check that the manual is there if you want a complete copy.
