A Japan-only Mega-CD conversion of Taito's arcade brawler, squeezed from three screens to one.

This is the Mega-CD version of The Ninja Warriors, developed by Aisystem Tokyo and published by Taito. It came out only in Japan, on 12 March 1993. The arcade original spread the action across three connected screens; Sega Force noted the Mega-CD version uses just one. It has six levels of martial arts action for one or two players, with knives and throwing blades against soldiers, dogs and killer robots.

Electronic Gaming Monthly's staff, previewing it, were not won over: they complained of poor control and said it plays almost like an 8-bit game.

Before you buy

It came out only in Japan, so you need a Japanese Mega-CD to play the disc. Among Japan-only Sega CD games its loose price sits above the middle, and copies sell infrequently, so be patient and compare listings that show the disc's printed side along with the case.
