A cheerful cat-and-mouse platformer that has nothing to do with its film.

Tom and Jerry: The Movie was developed by SIMS and released by Sega in Europe on 1 October 1992, with a Tec Toy release in Brazil in 1992. It was timed to coincide with the film but has no relevance to its content. As Tom, you chase Jerry through the house, outside, through the country and back into the house, where Tom finally catches him.

A Game Gear version followed in 1993 with completely different stages but the same gameplay.

What the press said at the time

Sega Force77%

“Slick sprites, big and colourful. Characters are great representations of the cartoon heroes … Trying to grab Jerry is great fun. Control’s a little slow in places, nevertheless a great concept … A good-looking game, with a great humour element. Somewhat easy.”

— Sega Force, October 1992
