A launch-era golf game that is an inexpensive way to own one of the Neo Geo's first carts.
Top Player's Golf is SNK's 1990 golf game and one of the launch titles for both the MVS and the AES in the United States. It is SNK's second golf game, after Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf (1988), and one of only two golf games on the Neo Geo, the other being Neo Turf Masters. You play against the computer or another person across courses at two country clubs.
The arcade game came in May 1990, and the Japanese AES cart went on general sale on July 1, 1991, after the console had been a rental-only system for game stores and hotels in Japan. It is a plain arcade golf game, and most players looking for golf on the Neo Geo end up wanting the later one.

- Neo Geo CD. The Neo Geo CD version, released on September 9, 1994 as a launch title, has an arranged CD-quality soundtrack and other changes.
Before you buy
Med risk, but the cart is cheap enough that conversions are a small worry. The US cart sells for less than the Japanese one. A complete copy has the hard plastic case, artwork and manual and is worth noticeably more than a loose cart. It also came out on Neo Geo CD, and ACA NeoGeo covers the arcade version.
