A well-regarded third Strike helicopter game that sits a little above the middle among US carts.

This is the Genesis version of Urban Strike, the third game in the Strike series after Desert Strike and Jungle Strike. Granite Bay Software and Foley Hi-Tech developed it for Electronic Arts, and it came out in North America in 1994 and in Europe on 30 September 1994.

GamePro called it a top-notch helicopter-combat cart, citing ten massive missions, a mix of airborne and ground-based combat, new helicopter moves and a techno soundtrack. Next Generation was cooler, saying the scenery was great but that there was nothing new in the gameplay. In 1996, GamesMaster put the Mega Drive version fifth in its Mega Drive top ten.

“The missions are a lot more involved, there's more action - and the military hardware you have to deal with is significantly tougher than the opposition in previous Strike games.”

— Sega Magazine, October 1994

“Quite simply because it's the best shoot 'em up to appear in ages.”

— Sega Magazine, November 1994

“Ten levels, two helicopters, and the opportunity to fight as a commando outside the aircraft make this the best entry in EA's”

— GamePro, November 1994

“Once again EA comes out with another great addition to the Strike series.”

— Game Informer, December 1994
