About US AAF Mustang
USAAF Mustang is a horizontally scrolling shoot 'em up arcade game originally developed by NMK, and published by UPL in 1990. It was ported a year later to the Sega Mega Drive by Taito while being renamed Fire Mustang. NMK Co. Ltd. also developed the Sega Mega Drive version. The game is a very standard horizontal scrolling shoot em' up with only one type of available weapon and a bomb weapon. Players took on a fictional campaign in a World War II setting as a USAAF fighter pilot in a titular North American P-51 Mustang against the Nazi Luftwaffe and the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service.

A slow, Japan-only conversion of a World War II shooter, priced above the middle for a Japanese cart.
This is Fire Mustang, the Mega Drive version of the arcade shooter USAAF Mustang. NMK made the original, Taito ported it, and the cartridge came out only in Japan on 31 May 1991. The two-player mode of the arcade game was removed from the Mega Drive version.
Sega Pro's import review scored it 55 percent, saying a World War II setting does not feel right for a shoot 'em up and that the large graphics slow the game below an acceptable speed.

It came out only in Japan, and among Japan-only carts it sits above the middle. A Japanese cartridge is a different shape and fits a Western console only with an adapter or after removing two plastic tabs in its slot.
