A vertical shooter that Mean Machines found very average, and a Japan-only cart priced well above the middle.
Verytex is a vertically scrolling shooter developed by Opera House with help from ISCO and published by Asmik. It came out only in Japan, on 5 April 1991. It is set on a colonized planet where the military has staged a coup. Toshiyuki Futamura, the producer of Air Diver, led the production, and Hitoshi Sakimoto, Masaharu Iwata and Yoshio Furukawa composed the music.
Mean Machines said it turns very boring very quickly, with unexceptional graphics and dull gameplay.

Before you buy
Among Japan-only carts it sits well above the middle, so ask for a photo of the board before paying. Japanese cartridges have a different shape and do not fit a Western console without an adapter or removing two plastic tabs in its slot.
