A deep airline-management sim that keeps a premium among US carts and is worth checking carefully before you buy.

Aerobiz Supersonic is Koei's airline business simulation, the sequel to Aerobiz, and the Genesis cartridge followed the Super NES version. Koei both developed and published it. It came out in Japan on 18 February 1994 as Air Management II and in North America in January 1995.

Next Generation gave the Genesis version three stars out of five and said that simulation fans would be pleased with the level of detail.

How the Sega Genesis version differs

The Super NES version came first, in August 1994; the Genesis version was a later port.

Electronic Gaming Monthly scored the later Genesis version 6.6 out of 10 and called it a unique strategy game that was also entertaining.

Also on other platforms

Super NES · PC-98 · Windows · MS-DOS

  • Super NES. Electronic Gaming Monthly gave the Super NES version a 7.2 out of 10, calling it a different type of game geared toward strategy.

Before you buy

Among US carts it is one of the pricier ones. The Japanese loose cart usually costs much less than the US one, but a complete Japanese copy usually costs more. The cartridge saves to a battery inside it, so test that a save holds; a replaced battery is a normal repair and not a sign of a fake. This is a valuable cart, so ask for a photo of the board. Japanese carts are a different shape from Western ones.
