About Disney's Pinocchio
Journey through as Geppetto, the carpenter's live wooden puppet, Pinocchio, as he did in his Disney animated film - which itself was based on a children's novel. Have Pinocchio run, jump and twist-kick through all the familiar places, including the inside of a whale, and do good deeds enough to become the real human boy he's always wanted to be.

A weak licensed platformer on the Genesis, worth owning mainly if you collect Disney games.
Pinocchio is the Genesis cartridge of the Disney movie game made by Virgin Studios London, released in North America and Europe in October 1996. Super NES and Game Boy versions also exist; this is the Genesis one.
GamePro's January 1997 review called it a below-average game, fine only for novices and Disney fans. It follows the film's plot from Stromboli's marionette show to the raft ride with Geppetto away from Monstro, but the reviewer found the platforming rudimentary and the controls weak.
What the press said at the time
“A fabulous animated movie becomes a below-average game on the Genesis. Pinocchio's only for novices and Disney addicts.”
How the Sega Genesis version differs
GamePro's Coach Kyle gave the Genesis version a negative review, calling the gameplay and controls shallow and rudimentary.

Super NES · Game Boy · 32X
- Game Boy. GamePro said the Game Boy version simply translates the Genesis game's simple, easy levels to a portable form.
- 32X. A 32X version was completed but not released because of the add-on's limited popularity.
- 32X. Mean Machines Sega reported an enhanced 32X version underway, with extra parallax layers and double the colors.
Before you buy
Among US carts it sits above the middle. A European loose cart usually costs about the same as a US one, while a complete European copy usually costs less. A complete US copy means the case, the cartridge and the manual.
