About F-1 World Grand Prix II

F1 WGP 2 pretty much sports the same features as the first game. The game has 4 modes of play: the championship season mode, the exhibition race, time trials, and the challenge mode. R and Z are used to shift gears, the analog stick is used to steer the car, A is the accelerator and B is the brake. The C-buttons allow for camera changes and backmirror views. It's pretty much the same setup and how these work are pretty much unchanged from the first game to the second.

A Formula One game that N64 Magazine thought too close to its predecessor, and it only came out in Europe.

F-1 World Grand Prix II is the Nintendo 64 version of Video System's Formula One series entry, developed by Paradigm Entertainment and released only in Europe, on July 2, 1999. The N64 game is based on the 1998 Formula One season, while the Game Boy Color and Dreamcast versions use the 1999 season.

N64 Magazine judged it too similar to the first game.

“With 1999 stats, it might just have been possible to recommend F1 WGP 2 to real hardcore F1 fans. As it is, unless the original game runs into mysteriously short supply, stick with that.”

— N64 Magazine, September 1999

Before you buy

This is a PAL cartridge. A loose copy is the lowest priced among the PAL-only games it is grouped with, and the fake risk is low. A complete copy costs only a little more than a loose one, while sealed copies are listed far above used prices. The Expansion Pak is optional, and the manual says the Rumble Pak is supported.
