Fever Pitch Soccer in Europe, Head-On Soccer in North America — Jaguar lists use both, sometimes on the same page. An arcade-leaning soccer game with an aggressive streak (sliding tackles encouraged, tone closer to Speedball than FIFA), and the weaker of the platform's two soccer games by a wide margin.

Worth knowing

Previewed as Red Hot Soccer, and it has a German footballer's name on it. The French magazine CD Consoles previewed the Jaguar version in early 1995 under the name Red Hot Soccer, in a noticeably different state from what shipped. Elsewhere the game had its own naming problems: in Germany it is Mario Basler: Jetzt geht's los!, endorsed by the German winger, on both Mega Drive and Super NES. North America had it as Head-On Soccer on other formats — the Jaguar is the one machine that got Fever Pitch Soccer in both territories.
It exists because of Atari's European development centre. Atari Corporation UK's marketing manager Darryl Still said in a 2016 interview that this title was picked for conversion as part of Atari's European centre of development, set up in January 1995 to commission Jaguar work from independent studios across Europe. Distinctive Developments did the conversion — a different studio from the one that made the versions on other formats. The same European centre produced Attack of the Mutant Penguins, and Still co-produced that one himself, outside his working hours.

Cartridges are the durable half of this library — the risk is provenance, not decay. The platform has an active post-commercial scene, so the question is usually which era a cartridge is from rather than whether it still works.

Ask for a photo of the label edge and the cartridge back. Reproductions are usually printed on adhesive photo stock and sit proud of the label recess.
Donor shells are the common trick: sanding marks on the back, or adhesive ghosting where an older label was lifted, are the strongest signals.
Cartridges are region-free on this platform, so a cheaper PAL copy plays on a North American console — a price difference is not evidence of a fake.
