Frog Feast is a 2005 action video game by independent developer Rastersoft and originally published by OlderGames for the Neo Geo CD and Sega CD. It was ported to Genesis, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, X68000, CD-i, Jaguar CD, Jaguar, Amiga CD32, Dreamcast, and FM Towns Marty. Frog Feast is a clone of the 1978 Frogs arcade game by Gremlin Industries. Players control frogs on lily pads attempting to eat more flies than the other in a set time limit.

Less a game than a proof that every dormant platform was still reachable in 2007 — in three different Jaguar products.
Charles Doty's clone of a 1978 arcade game — two frogs catching flies — ported to almost every dormant platform with a homebrew scene, from Neo Geo CD to CD-i to both Jaguar formats. Its significance is distributional, not mechanical.
The cataloguing trap: it exists as THREE distinct Jaguar products — Jaguar CD (September 2007), Jaguar cartridge (October 2007), and a Songbird 4MB combo cartridge paired with Soccer Kid. Different products, different values, same title.
How it was made
The Jaguar conversion's studio is not separately credited in the sources checked. Rastersoft is credited for the original version, but on this era's ports the Jaguar conversion was frequently done by a different team — see the per-platform credits below before attributing it. How the Atari Jaguar version differs
A homebrew-era release, not a period title: the Jaguar cartridge came from Chaos89.com on 30 October 2007, and the Jaguar CD version from OlderGames on 29 September 2007 in a numbered run of 50.
All fifty of those original numbered Jaguar CD copies were defective, forcing OlderGames to reprint and double the run to 100. Songbird Productions then acquired the rights and re-released the Jaguar CD version in 2009 — so three distinct Jaguar CD pressings exist, and the first is a known-bad run.
The cartridge was built using a library by Sebastien Briais of the French group The Removers, written to ease game creation on the console.

- Neo Geo CD. The first platform Doty targeted, and the reason OlderGames took the game on — he had already built unreleased Neo Geo, Sega CD and TurboDuo versions of Super Fighter for them.
- Sega CD. Launched simultaneously with the Neo Geo CD edition on 20 August 2005, both debuting at the Classic Gaming Expo rather than at retail — the pattern for every release that followed.
- Amiga CD32. Released simultaneously with the Dreamcast and FM Towns Marty versions on 15 November 2007, in a limited run of fifty copies.
- Dreamcast. Part of the 15 November 2007 simultaneous release, limited to a hundred copies — twice the run of the CD32 and FM Towns editions.
Worth knowing
- All fifty copies of the first Jaguar run were defective. OlderGames published the Jaguar CD version on 29 September 2007 as a numbered limited run of fifty. Every one of the fifty was defective, so the run was reprinted and doubled to a hundred. If you are buying a numbered Jaguar Frog Feast, which print it came from is the whole question — and it is the sort of thing that never appears in a listing description.
- Built on a French homebrew library, then sold twice more. The Jaguar version was written using a library by Sébastien Briais of The Removers, the French group behind the platform's Another World conversion, which exists specifically to make Jaguar development easier. Songbird Productions acquired the rights in 2009 and reissued it, then packaged it again in 2017 as a limited Soccer Kid + Frog Feast compilation — so three separate Jaguar releases of the same game exist, from two publishers.
- One small game, an absurd number of dead platforms. Charles Doty founded Rastersoft in 2005 specifically to make new games for discontinued hardware, and Frog Feast is the proof of concept: Neo Geo CD and Sega CD first in 2005, then CD-i, then Jaguar CD, then Amiga CD32, Dreamcast and FM Towns Marty simultaneously in November 2007 — several of those limited to fifty copies each — plus conversions to the CP System, Neo Geo MVS, PolyGame Master and Sega System C2 arcade boards.

Buying a Jaguar cartridge
Cartridges are the durable half of this library — the risk is provenance, not decay. The platform has an active post-commercial scene, so the question is usually which era a cartridge is from rather than whether it still works.
- Ask for a photo of the label edge and the cartridge back. Reproductions are usually printed on adhesive photo stock and sit proud of the label recess.
- Donor shells are the common trick: sanding marks on the back, or adhesive ghosting where an older label was lifted, are the strongest signals.
- Cartridges are region-free on this platform, so a cheaper PAL copy plays on a North American console — a price difference is not evidence of a fake.
