A Goemon board game with combat and cards, for series fans who read Japanese.

Goemon Mononoke Sugoroku is the third Ganbare Goemon game on the Nintendo 64 and the only one of the three that stayed in Japan. Konami Computer Entertainment Kobe developed it and Konami released it on December 25, 1999. It is based on the Japanese board game sugoroku, with added combat and card play.

The boards are pre-rendered and resemble locations from earlier Goemon games, and series regulars including Goemon, Ebisumaru, Sasuke and Yae are playable. Yae wears a new outfit here that the series used in later games, and characters from Rakugakids appear as battle cards.

How it was made

Developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Kobe, with music credited to Kozo Nakamura, Tomoaki Hirono, Takeshi Iwakiri and Hajime Takai.

Before you buy

This is the Japanese cartridge, and the game came out only in Japan. Loose copies sit above the middle of the Japan-only group and above the median for 1999 releases. A complete copy costs more than twice a loose one. Fake risk is low.
