Golf on Wikipedia

Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit a ball into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. The game was first played in the 15th century in Scotland, and as such, the country is often accredited as "the home of Golf".

Virtual Boy prices, all games & how to spot a fake

A serious golf sim from a studio that made serious golf sims — and depth perception genuinely helps you read the green.

T&E Soft built real golf games, and this is one, not a licensing exercise: a full 18-hole course with actual course-management depth. The stereoscopic display turns out to be legitimately useful for judging distance to the pin — a rare case of the hardware solving a real problem instead of showing off. Its modest rating reflects the audience, not the execution; in 1995 nobody bought a Virtual Boy for golf.

What the press said at the time

Game Informer #34February 19966.75/10

Famitsu's 26/40 is among the better Japanese scores on the platform. It reached fifth in Nintendo Power's reader poll in June 1996.

Before you buy

Titled T&E Virtual Golf in Japan and much cheaper there for a game whose only text is menus — the easiest import recommendation on the platform. Low counterfeit risk.
