About I-War

I-War is a 3D virtual reality tank game. In each of the 21 levels, you must find all the data pods and make your way to the exit. Enemy tanks, turrets, and bombers stand in your way, as well as occasional traps or locked doors controlled by hidden switches. Levels are divided into simple, enclosed rooms, linearly connected by one-way teleporters.

A cyberspace shooter where the Jaguar's flat-shaded look finally reads as style instead of compromise.

A supercomputer called Override is corrupting databases; you fly into the machine to stop it. Mid-90s cyberspace aesthetic — neon wireframes, abstract geometry — and a smart match for hardware that was much better at clean untextured polygons than texture detail. The gameplay underneath is thinner than the presentation: objectives repeat and novelty carries it further than mechanics. Development churned through three working titles (Redemption, Dreadnaught, Netwar), which tells you the concept was still moving late.

Its studio deserves the footnote: Imagitec of Dewsbury shipped four Jaguar titles — Raiden, Dino Dudes, Bubsy, and this — the closest thing the platform had to a workhorse second-party developer.
