A landmark early Genesis football game that holds up as a historical piece, and a cheap cart to own.

John Madden Football '92 was made by Park Place Productions and published by Electronic Arts. It was the second Madden game on the Genesis and the one that began the series' tradition of annual editions. It added instant replay, two-player cooperative play, quarterback injuries, highlights and more audibles, along with pre-season, regular-season, playoff and sudden-death modes. North America got it in December 1991, and Japan received it in November 1992 under the title Pro Football.

Mean Machines called it the best football game ever devised, with superb graphics and unsurpassed gameplay. VideoGames & Computer Entertainment gave it an honorable mention among the best games of 1991 for its digitized play-by-play speech and full 28-team lineup, and in October 1992 Mega ranked it first in its list of the top Mega Drive games of all time.
